Inkjet Print + Acrobat
To maintain image integrity of file as you create a PDF for printing: do NOT "downsample" when compressing. Setup your file as "Portrait" and study Printing Guidelines & Info and Known Error Conditions.
IMPORTANT: the Portrait width should be no wider than the target printer’s roll width.
Start Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Go to File menu and Open your file through Acrobat Professional. Note: don’t just double-click your PDF or your file may open with Apple Preview and that will cause problems when trying to print to lab inkjets.
Go to the File submenu and select Page Setup....
Click the Format for submenu; select the desired printer.
You need to create a Custom Paper Size. Click Paper Size: to reveal Manage Custom Sizes.... Custom Page Sizes menu appears.
Click "+" to create a new Custom Page Size. Double-click on default "Untitled-1" and re-name it. Enter Width and Height, but document width can not exceed roll width! Set four Printer Margins to 0 inches. (adjust additional white space in advance: see "... Guidelines & Information" sheet)
Click OK and return to Page Setup and click on Paper Size menu again, scroll through menu and select the custom size you made earlier.
While still in Page Setup, select Orientation: Portrait. Click OK to close Page Setup menu.
Go to the File menu and select Print.... Your document displays the way it will print. In the Print menu, select the printer you want to use. Enter no more than ONE copy. In Page Scaling submenu, select None. Click Advanced... to reveal Advanced Print Setup.
In the Color Profile submenu, select Same as Source (No Color Management). Transparency Flattener Preset, select [High Resolution]. Click OK to return to previous Print menu.
You are now ready to send a request for a print. Click Print to send your job to the Release Station.
Helpful Hint: if you start the Printer Setup Utility and double-click on your targeted printer in the Printer List, you can watch the progress of your spool file on its way to the Release Station.
Go to an inkjet Release Station: login, select your job from the list, verify the price and that your account balance is sufficient. Then click Print to send it to the printer or Delete to cancel. You will not be charged until you release the print.
