Reset your password


This will take you through the steps to reset your Active Directory (AD) or CITES password.

Using MacOS X

MacOS X login window filled in with username At the Mac OS X login screen type:
Name: newuser
Password: art


The Safari web browser icon.

If the web browser does not immediately appear, click the Safari (web browser) icon.

The Active Directory Password website will appear.

If you have successfully logged in before but you mistyped your password a few times and now you can't login at all, you probably locked your AD password. Click the "unlock ACCOUNT" link to unlock your Active Directory password.

If you need to change your password for any reason, click the "change PASSWORD" link.

Note: you will need to verify your identity by logging in with your netID (bluestem) password. If you have forgotten this password, you must either visit the CITES helpdesk for assistance or answer security questions to reset your netID password.

Follow the instructions on the next few pages to set your AD password. Memorize your new password!


When you are finished, go to the Apple menu and select Log Out newuser ...
